Dragged Into A Ditch by Cell Block Earth

Cell Block Earth is a Detroit based thrash-metal band led by members Chris Sterritt, (Vocals) Mike Stein, (Guitars) Mark Lindsey, (Bass) and Larry Gallerani (Drums). The band was originally formed in 2000 by Stein, Lindsey and Gallerani as a garage band, literally practicing in a friend’s garage. Their common interest in metal based music was the basis for how they wrote songs and what direction the band was heading. After 2 years of rehearsal, it became apparent that the band wanted to get out of the garage and up on a stage.

After locating a singer the band began playing out regularly. Cell Block Earth played several events at locations such as Harpo’s in Hamtramck and The I-Rock in Detroit with several national acts including Cannibal Corpse, Kittie, Mushroomhead and The Dead Kennedys, playing tracks from their 4 song untitled E.P. In 2010 Chris Sterritt joined forces with the trio after their old vocalist left the group and within 3 years they released their first full length album White Noise, Static, Numb.

For the past 5 years Cell Block Earth has been playing annual Michigan metal festivals like Metal Revolution and Metal Fest in places as far as East Jordan and Alpena in Northern Michigan and have covered their home base Detroit scene with their sound as well. As 4th year honorary members of The Northern Michigan Metal Alliance, the band met up with other heavy powerhouses like From Blue To Gray and the group is playing out regularly and is anxious for the release of their 2nd full length album Spastic Rants, due to be released as early as Feb. 2016. The first track on Spastic Rants, titled Dragged Into A Ditch featured here is a staple of what Cell Block Earth sounds like. Listen to it for yourself and decide what they sound like for yourself.
